One of my friends, Allison has a son who has been diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Instead of sitting back and watching, she and her family have set out to help find a cure for this disease. This is just one of the events and fundraising efforts that they have held in the past two years. Other events have included a 10K race and a series of birthday parties all held to raise funds for Duchenne. They raised over $50,000 through special events last year and have no plan of stopping.

One such event that is being held is called Lemon-Aid. It's a special fundraiser that you can read more about here. If you are in the area, or know anyone in the area, please encourage them to participate. You can also participate by linking your own Lemon-Aid stand to fundraise.

Like so many others, I was touched by their story and I wanted to share the impact that Allison is making on so many lives and one in particular, her son.
